Have you or has anyone you know ever been a Jehovah's Witness? Our society typically views the Witnesses as a silly group of misguided religious nuts, but in reality, it's not so funny. There are over eight million active Jehovah's Witnesses right now, but it's impossible to know how many of them are being abused by family members or elders, how many want out but have no way to escape, or how many are shunning family members simply for wanting freedom. We want to share our thoughts and experiences on this religious cult this month at Discussion Group 2 in South Hills.
Until then, feel free to ponder the following questions:
Were you ever a Jehovah's Witness or do you know anyone who was? If you're willing, share your story with us.
What do you know about, or what have you heard about, the Witnesses?
Have you ever had Witnesses knock on your door? What was your experience like?
How is the Witness religion different from Christianity? How is it different from Mormonism?
What sources do you recommend everyone check out on the Witnesses?
Is the JW religion a cult? (See BITE model link below)
