Klan We Talk? Adversarial Listening to Inspire Change
Daryl Davis
Event details: Using race as an example, musician and race reconciliator Daryl Davis will share the tools needed to conduct hard but productive conversations. Learn how to work through differences with friends, family, and coworkers without fear of retaliation or losing friendships. Daryl lives by the rule: "When two enemies are talking, they aren't fighting. It is when the conversation ceases that the ground becomes fertile for violence. So keep the conversations going."
About Daryl Davis: Daryl Davis has attended more Ku Klux Klan rallies than most White people and certainly most Blacks. His real-life encounters with Grand Dragons, Imperial Wizards, and neo-Nazi Commanders are detailed in his documentaries and books. He is also the recipient of numerous awards including the Elliott-Black Award, the MLK Award and the Bridge Builder Award among many others.
