Media Club - Luck and Meritocracy

Join PFC Member Laurent Fousse for an in depth presentation and discussion about luck and meritocracy. How do we explain (and justify) the inequalities of outcome in our society? We'll discuss the (philosophical) concept of Luck and its connection to the widely accepted belief in Meritocracy. I'll try to explain some of Meritocracy's potential historical roots in the Protestant Work Ethic. What would be the consequences if we embraced a philosophy of Luck instead?
