Topic-Focused Discussion Groups
2nd Thursday – Discussion Group I
4th Monday – Discussion Group II
These are more formal events with a predetermined topic giving participants an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the subject beforehand. It is often focused on ethical or philosophical matters with large areas of “gray” so as to merit discussion from differing perspectives, many of which are issues currently in the spotlight. The event features a facilitator/moderator to insure that everyone has a chance to be heard. This group meets in the eastern part of the city.
Due to the large interest in these conversations, PFC offers two venues per month. The format is the same, but topics and moderators are different. Group I meets in the East End of the City. Group II, in Mt. Lebanon:
Group I: Tan Lac Vien Vietnamese Bistro, 2114 Murray Ave, in Squirrel Hill.
Group II: Sunnyhill, the Unitarian Church on Rte 19 in Mt. Lebanon.
